MORNING REPORT

Univision (Channel 52) news will present a weeklong series of reports from Mexico beginning today through Friday, providing coverage of President Carlos Salinas de Gortari's first State of the Nation address on Wednesday. In addition to providing segments of the newscast from Mexico City, co-anchor Maria Elena Salinas will provide feature stories on the country's ecology, the celebration of All Saints Day and an exclusive interview with Baja California's governor, Ernesto Ruffo Appel, the first opposition candidate to win a political seat in Mexico's history. Univision correspondent Edlin Ortiz will analyze President Salinas de Gortari's first year in office, and will report on Mexico's economic and social condition.
