CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — The long-awaited launch of the Hubble Space Telescope will be delayed from March to April because of a problem with one of space shuttle Atlantis' solid fuel booster rockets, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration said today.

The $1.7-billion spacecraft is scheduled to become astronomy's most significant tool in expanding knowledge of the universe into the 21st Century.
