Malathion Controversy

February 11, 1990

Shouldn't malathion spraying be based on scientific facts and left in the hands of neutral, trustworthy scientists? Instead it seems that some want to decide the issue on the basis of who can shout the loudest, who can mobilize the largest gathering of sign carriers. I don't believe that it qualifies as a political issue. Let's get the emotions out and try to be rational. Let's not be such wimps, seeking a life totally without risks and probably having more risks as a result.
