John Harbour, the boys' basketball coach at Camarillo High for nine of the past 10 seasons, resigned Wednesday, citing burnout.
Harbour, whose son David was the county's third-leading scorer this season, will continue to teach mathematics at Camarillo. Harbour's record was 147-71, including four Marmonte League championships.
"I'm going to relax and enjoy watching David play," said Harbour, whose son will be a senior next year. "I'm not deriving as much pleasure from the victories as I used to. I agonize over the losses and, when we win, I just feel relieved."
Harbour indicated that David, who averaged 27.7 points a game, will feel less pressure playing for a coach other than his father.
