The Practice of 'Outing' Draws Fire

April 01, 1990

So Larry Kramer is found to be HIV positive and suddenly decides that gives him the right to infringe on someone's privacy? Oh, please. I am utterly shocked at his reasoning. Someone in a position of power who may or may not be gay is exposed because Kramer feels that person should be doing something for the gay community? I am disgusted by all of this. Malcolm Forbes, gay, straight or otherwise, and his family deserved better than what they got from these "do-gooders." Are the activists so self-serving that they don't care about the feelings of family and loved ones?

It's a sad commentary on the American way of life to think someone's sexual orientation is newsworthy.
