Blaze Destroys Vacant Warehouse

A fire that blanketed much of the downtown business district with black smoke ravaged an earthquake-damaged warehouse. No injuries were reported in the blaze at the four-story brick building at 6th and Bluxome streets. The cause of the fire was under investigation. A fire spokesman said the building, which suffered damage in the October quake that killed 67 people in Northern California, was empty "as far as we know."
