BLYTHE, Calif. — One pilot was killed and another injured Thursday in the collision of two crop-dusting planes, officials said.
The two small planes collided at 10:12 a.m. near the junction of California 78 and 22nd Avenue, about 7 miles south of Blythe, Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Denver Pittman said.
"Both crop-dusters crashed in an open field, killing one and injuring the other," Pittman said. "The planes were carrying parathion and other insecticides."
The names of the pilots were not immediately released.
