GARDENER'S CHECKLIST

May 13, 1990

For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:

* Remember mom on Mother's Day with a special gift--a living plant. Try a dwarf citrus tree, chrysanthemum, rhododendron or a planter full of annuals.

* Remove the stem and leaves of bulb flowers after they've completely died back; you'll rob the bulb of food if you do it sooner.

* Prune spring-flowering shrubs after they've completed their blooming cycle.

* May is ideal for seeding lawns of Bermuda grass and dichondra.
