Maj. Gen. Antoine Lahad, commander of the Israeli-backed South Lebanon Army, said he is ready to swap a "large number" of the 300 Muslims held in southern Lebanon by his militia for Western hostages--including six Americans--held by pro-Iranian Shiites. Lahad also wants included in the trade three Israeli servicemen and several of his men held by Shiite factions.
