SHORT TAKES : Looney Tunes Return Announced

May 21, 1990|From Times Wire Services

To celebrate Bugs Bunny's 50th birthday, Looney Tunes will be returning to the big screen. AMC Theaters announced today that, beginning Friday, the chain will screen selected seven-minute cartoon classics before some feature films as part of the yearlong 50th birthday celebration.

AMC officials said they hired an independent research group last year to conduct a survey of more than 60,000 moviegoers, with an overwhelming response calling for the return of the Looney Tunes adventures featuring Warner Bros. characters Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Sylvester, Tweety, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote and Bugs Bunny.
