Simi Valley Mayor Greg Stratton has been elected chairman of the Assn. of Ventura County Cities.

The organization, which includes the mayors of all 10 Ventura County cities, meets several times a year to discuss countywide issues such as homelessness, development, sanitation and the environment.

Stratton said the association elects city representatives to county and state organizations such as the Ventura County Transportation Commission and the Southern California Assn. of Governments.

"The AVCC is a progressive organization which enables cities to discuss similar concerns so that we may work together to effectively accomplish common goals," Stratton said.
