All over the U.S., people are objecting to "The Simpsons" because of the bad influence it might have on their children, or they think the show is just plain vulgar ("Bart Simpson's Real Father," by Joe Morgenstern, April 29). On behalf of the people who like "The Simpsons," I think the show is just plain fun, a break from reality for 30 minutes of an otherwise hectic, yet boring, schedule. Or it could be viewed as a way to see how bad your life could really be. Any way you see it, it's just a cartoon that appeals to a generation looking for something that pokes fun at life.

If you seriously do not like it, just turn it off.
