SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Motorola Inc. today reported a 4.5% gain in its second quarter profit over a year ago, partly due to international demand for its cellular telephone technology.
The company said net income for the three months ended June 30 totaled $161 million, or $1.22 per share, compared with earnings of $154 million, or $1.18 a share, in 1989.
