MORNING REPORT

July 20, 1990|GREG BRAXTON | Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

Thanks a Million: Only the Phantom knows who will be the 1-millionth theatergoer to see "Phantom of the Opera" at the Ahmanson Theatre. But the Phantom predicts that special person will enter his haunt at Saturday's 8 p.m. performance. The unsuspecting millionth guest will be mysteriously whisked away after the show by the Phantom, Robert Guillaume, for a backstage tour. The company will toast the patron with champagne and dessert and present him or her with free theater tickets to "Rumors" playing at the Doolittle Theatre and "Miss Evers' Boys" playing at the Mark Taper Forum.
