Here is a list of privately operated recycling centers in the Central Los Angeles area south of Washington Boulevard and west of the L.A. River that are certified by the state to pay refunds for beverage containers covered under California's recycling program. For containers that qualify, the refunds are 5 cents for every two containers under 24 ounces and 5 cents apiece for larger ones, with some centers offering refunds by weight. Hours of operation vary. The abbreviations for materials accepted are aluminum, AL; glass, GL; plastic, PL; other metals, OM, and refillable bottles, RF.
