It seems, in the absence of substance, loud and irritating background music is being substituted for variance of melodic and effective music. Apropos, when TV first came into existence there were many who would sing and hum the catchy commercials long after the set had been turned off.
Are the networks and advertising agencies only trying to attract the young and certainly not the most affluent echelon of society?
In light of the foregoing, kudos for the "mute" button.
