Those old bottles, oil cans, magazines and newspapers that have been building up in your garage are recyclable; maybe even valuable. The state Integrated Waste Management Board has released the following list of Southeast area recycling centers that accept an array of disposable products. Some centers pay for the materials. The board has a toll-free hotline for recycling information: (800) 553-2962. The line is often busy and does not provide information about prices paid for recylables. Local centers--with phone numbers listed below--provide that information. The following list is distinct from another previously published in The Times, which featured centers certified by the state to pay for beverage containers. For more information about those centers, call the California Department of Conservation's toll-free number, (800) 327-9886.
