The Wild West comes to Poway with a three-day rodeo this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Poway Valley Riders Arena. On Saturday, Miss Rodeo California 1991 will be crowned.
The very best cowboys in the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Circuit will be riding for the chance to compete for thousands of dollars at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in December. This competition is sponsored by the Coors Brewing Company, Coca Cola and KSON country radio.
Each night of the rodeo, seven events will be featured, including calf roping, team roping and bareback bronc riding. Bull riding also will be featured.
Women also will compete in various rodeo events, including the barrel race, where horses are maneuvered around three barrels set in a triangular course.
