OCC to Host Today's Meet at Irvine Park

October 05, 1990

The top community college cross-country teams in Southern California will meet at 2 p.m. today in the Irvine Invitational at Irvine Regional Park.

Orange Coast College plays host to the event, which will include about 40 teams.

Orange Coast Coach Gordie Fitzel said he has received commitments from traditional powers El Camino, Los Angeles Trade Tech, Glendale, Long Beach and Mt. San Antonio.

Cypress, Fullerton, Golden West, Saddleback, Orange Coast and Rancho Santiago are also entered. Orange Coast and Rancho Santiago are the favorites among the local colleges.
