Course 1 at Brookside Golf Course will be upgraded from municipal-level to more challenging, resort-level play with $300,000 worth of improvements financed by a fee increase approved Tuesday by the city Board of Directors.
American Golf Corp., which operates the city-owned golf course, proposed the improvements as a way to increase city revenues to $4.1 million annually from Brookside's two courses, which currently yield $3.3 million.
