Emulex Corp., the Costa Mesa computer products company, reported a rise in fiscal first-quarter earnings to $1.4 million from $176,000 for the year-earlier quarter. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 rose 18% to $34.1 million from $28.8 million.
