The City Council, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency, on Tuesday said there will not be enough parking at two new developments being proposed for 14-24 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., the site of a fire in December.
Property owners Fred Crocket and Helen Elliott, in a bid to persuade the city to allow them to continue with the project, have offered to give the city 16 feet of their property for public access.
If the deal is accepted by the city, officials could grant the project up to 10 parking credits, allowing construction to move forward. However, City Manager James McRea said there are no immediate uses for the offered land.
Negotiations were continuing.
