Applications for residency will be taken during November for a $25-million apartment complex being built in Sun Valley for low-income families and senior citizens.
The applications will be accepted at 11100 Strathern St., near the construction site. The 241 one- to five-bedroom garden apartments, expected to be ready for first move-ins in March, will rent from $325 to $635 a month.
Applicants must make no more than 60% of the median income, which currently ranges from $17,520, for a single applicant, to $33,000 for a family of eight or more.
Known as Strathern Park, the apartments are being developed and will be managed by Thomas Safran & Associates of Los Angeles, with about $6.4 million in assistance from the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency and about $5.1 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
