An apparently unarmed man robbed a Bank of America branch of $1,162 Monday after approaching a bank teller and demanding that she give him money, authorities said.
"I just did what he wanted," the teller at the 8856 E. Valley Blvd. branch said.
Bank policy requires tellers to comply with robbers for the safety of customers and other employees, bank spokesman Tom Chapman said. "We have to assume that anybody who comes in to rob the bank is a dangerous person, whether he has a gun or not," he said.
