Dinner Nets $100,000

Mkomazi Game Reserve in Tanzania will receive almost $100,000 from a fund-raising dinner held Nov. 4 at Mortons restaurant. The event was sponsored by the Tony Fitzjohn/George Adamson African Wildlife Preservation Trust and hosted by Peter Morton. Proceeds will support reintroduction of endangered species into the wild. Ali MacGraw was the evening's chair.

* SHARE (Share Happily and Reap Endlessly) has grossed about $175,000 from sales of its 1991 "Day by Day" calendar book. SHARE supports a number of agencies, including California Special Olympics Inc., Child Disability Center, Exceptional Children's Foundation, Rape Treatment Center, Jeffrey Foundation and St. John's Child Study Center.

* Oralingua School for the Hearing Impaired's "Coming of Age" black-tie celebration Nov. 2 at the Whittier Hilton Hotel netted about $17,000 for the school's scholarship program. The 21st anniversary event honored Karen and Rick Burleson.

* Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center received a $20,000 donation Sept. 23 from the Culver City Guidance Clinic Guild. The money be used for the center's Family and Child Guidance Clinic programs.

* Independent Living Center of Southern California Inc. netted $19,000 at its Oct. 18 gala at the Airtel Plaza Hotel. The money will be used to support the center's services for people with disabilities. Bud Brown was chair.

* Hollywood Entertainment Museum's second annual Legacy Awards dinner was held Nov. 7 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, netting $80,000 to go into the building fund for the multimillion-dollar museum complex to be built in Hollywood.
