You were quick to highlight the fact that the new archbishop of Armagh, Dr. Cathal (not Cahal) Daly, has condemned the IRA as "evil" (Part A, Nov. 8). Why do you ignore the fact that the archbishop has been equally vociferous in his condemnation of British policy in Northern Ireland, with special reference to discrimination in employment, the judicial system police army activities?
He has consistently condemned all atrocities committed in the province; those committed by the IRA and those committed by the various factions who oppose the IRA. It is wrong to create the impression that the IRA is the only monster in the cesspool of strife that has crippled one of the most beautiful provinces on God's earth.
