Nick Faldo of England, winner of the Masters and British Open, was named PGA Player-of-the-Year by the Golf Writers Assn. of America. Lee Trevino, winner of seven tournaments, including the U.S. Open, was named Player-of-the-Year on the Senior PGA Tour. Beth Daniel, who topped the money-winning list and collected seven victories on the LPGA Tour, was named the top LPGA player.
