December 06, 1990

Salvador Abriz has been unanimously elected as president of the seven-member Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District Board of Education.

Abriz has been a member of the board since December, 1987. He replaces outgoing President William White. White, who was elected to the board in 1981, was serving his second term as president. Abriz will serve for one year, presiding over board meetings and representing the district at various functions.

By a 4-3 vote, members of the board elected William Campbell as vice president. Campbell also has been a school board member since December, 1987.

Both Abriz and Campbell are serving as officers of the board for the first time.
