A tentative agreement giving teachers a 4.5% salary increase for the 1990-91 school year has been reached between the ABC Unified School District management and teachers union representatives.
The approximately 1,100 members of the ABC Federation of Teachers must ratify the agreement. If it is approved, the school board is expected to give final approval later this month. The one-year agreement is retroactive to July 1.
In other action, the seven-member ABC school board chose Robert Hughlett as president for the 1990-91 school year. Hughlett replaces Jim Weisenberger. Board member Dixie Primosch replaces Hughlett as vice president, and Cecy Groom was chosen as clerk in the annual reorganization.
