Whittier Lodge Takes Entries for Elks Scholarships

WHITTIER — Elks Lodge 1258 is accepting applications for the Elks Foundation Most Valuable Student contest for this school year.

The contest is responsible for distributing more than $3 million nationally to qualifying senior high school students seeking a baccalaureate degree from an accredited American four-year college or university. Finalists are judged on financial need, leadership and academic achievement.

All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award based upon acceptance and enrollment in an undergraduate course at an accredited American college.

The Whittier Elks Club will process applications from these high schools: California, La Serna, Pioneer, Santa Fe, Whittier, St. Paul and Whittier Christian.
