EVER SEARCHING for the perfect wave? You'll be stoked by the Big Wave video, part of the continuing "Malibu to Windansea" exhibit (through April, 1991) at the California Surf Museum in Pacific Beach. Among the repository of California surf lore's highlights are '60s beach graffiti, a "cherry" vintage Malibu Perpetual redwood board, photos of former champs in period beachwear and a boss photo display of the real Gidget.
"Many of the surfing pioneers are still alive," says museum board member Gary Abrams, "and we want to accurately record their unique lifestyle." The small museum is open weekends only and staffed solely by volunteers. Admittance is free.
