Long-Distance Jobs

January 06, 1991

Once again, the California mentality rears its ugly head as in "Climate, Affordability Draw a Crowd" on Lancaster (Dec. 2). Where else do people wittingly choose to live 1 1/2 hours or more from their jobs! Not only are they adding to air pollution and destroying their own sanity (plus wear-and-tear on the cars), they are endangering others on the road. I, for one, do not want to be surrounded by people who are commuting home after working all day and driving such a distance. Reflexes and responses have to be impaired.

I would rather take a lower-paying job than be driven insane (or dead) by a long commute. No job is worth it.
