New German Films: The American Cinematheque will document the newly reunited German film industry this month with a festival entitled "New German Films: East and West Together." The event, to be held Jan. 18-20 at Hollywood's Directors Guild of America, will focus on themes that German filmmakers are dealing with in their efforts to come to terms with their nation's reunification. Ten German films will have their American premieres in a program that includes discussions with directors Robert Altman, Alan Rudolph and Oliver Stone.
