NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Suzy Favor of the University of Wisconsin, NCAA champion in the 1,500 meters the last four years, was named winner of the Honda-Broderick Cup, awarded annually to the collegiate female athlete of the year, at a dinner before a crowd of 1,000 here Wednesday night.
Previously honored as the Big Ten athlete of the year and the Jesse Owens female athlete of the year, Favor was selected from 14 finalists, each representing the best in the country in her sport.
