The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium has awarded its advertising and publicity contract to The Gary Group, a Venice-based entertainment marketing agency.
The contract is part of an effort to position the auditorium "as the choice location for trade shows, concerts, consumer shows and seminars," according to auditorium manager Carole Curtin.
Curtin said the agency will augment the auditorium's efforts through the development and execution of an advertising campaign, promotional strategies and publicity efforts, both locally and nationally.
The Gary Group's clients include Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Mountain High Ski Area, Scotti Bros. Entertainment, and Walt Disney's World on Ice.
The Civic Auditorium, a division of the city's Cultural and Recreation Service Department, previously handled all marketing efforts in-house.
