Singer/songwriters Kathie Baillie, Jimmy Dean and Ray Stevens are set to host the Music City News Country Songwriters Awards on The Nashville Network April 29. The 10 top country hits of 1990, including song of the year, will be performed on the special, which will be telecast live from the Grand Ole Opry House.

Oscar-winning actress Sally Field hosts and narrates the TNT documentary "Barbara Stanwyck: Fire and Desire," premiering July 15. The one-hour special traces the career of the late Hollywood legend from her beginnings as a chorus girl to the superstar of such films as "Stella Dallas," "Ball of Fire" and "Double Indemnity." The retrospective was written, produced and directed by film critic Richard Schickel, who also produced TNT's "Gary Cooper: American Life, American Legend" and "Myrna Loy: So Nice to Come Home To."

"Jean de Florette" and "Manon of the Spring," Claude Berri's acclaimed two-part film adaptation of Marcel Pagnol's novel "Water of the Hills," will be presented in the letterbox format on Bravo April 4 and April 8. The letterbox format preserves the full-screen image of the film. Gerard Depardieu, his wife, Elisabeth Depardieu, Yves Montand, Daniel Auteuil and Emmanuelle Beart star in the award-winning 1987 films. Non-letterbox versions of the films will air April 30.

Gene Klavan begins April 1 as the new daytime host for American Movie Classics. Bob Dorian will remain as prime-time host. Klavan was the first morning performer on WNEW Radio in New York City, host for the now-defunct ABC-TV ARTS network and most recently hosted the WNEW-AM Weekend Variety Show, which featured music, interviews and information on Hollywood and Broadway.

AMC will celebrate the birthdays of two Hollywood legends: Marlene Dietrich and Charlie Chaplin with day-long movie festivals. On April 3, AMC presents Dietrich's "The Spoilers," "Flame of New Orleans" and "Destry Rides Again." April 16 features Chaplin's "Modern Times," "The Great Dictator" and "King in New York."
