Region : Shuttle Service Continues

April 04, 1991

The county's annual park-and-ride program and shuttle bus service to the Hollywood Bowl will continue this summer, County Supervisor Ed Edelman announced this week.

The park-and-ride program will shuttle people to and from the bowl from 15 county parking lots and will cost $2 per person each way, said Edelman spokesman Joel Bellman. The service has been in operation since 1974.

The Hollywood Bowl Shuttle Program, which Edelman initiated in 1986, also will operate during the 1991 summer concert season. Designed to ease parking and traffic problems during the concerts, the shuttle will run about every 15 minutes between the Bowl Museum on the grounds and a parking lot east of Highland Avenue. Fares for the shuttle will be $2 round trip per person.

The supervisors last week approved using $710,000 in Proposition A county transit tax revenues for both programs.

The park-and-ride program will operate out of four Westside county parking lots:

* Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Ave., West Hollywood.

* Federal Building, 11000 Wilshire Blvd., West Los Angeles.

* Security Pacific Bank, 4th Street and Arizona Avenue, Santa Monica.

* The Westchester Shopping Center, La Tijera and Sepulveda boulevards.
