Annual CSULB Festival on Saturday

LONG BEACH — Cal State Long Beach will present its sixth annual Kaleidoscope festival and open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Kaleidoscope '91 will offer an array of international music and dance presentations, arts and crafts, educational exhibits and ethnic cuisine.

Dozens of tribes of American Indians will join together for the 21st annual American Indian Pow Wow to present traditional dance, music and song.

The Associated Student-sponsored Kaleido-Karnival will offer arcade games, dunk-tanks and clowns.

Health-profession students will take blood pressures and perform height, weight and vision screenings.

The Mobile Science Museum, sponsored by the School of Natural Sciences, will have a number of exhibits, including the popular "touch tank" that allows participants to feel starfish, sea slugs and other marine life. Additional viewing in the Natural Sciences Museum includes live crabs, lobsters, turtles and tarantulas.

Basketball coaches will teach game fundamentals to children ages 7 to 13 at free mini-camps from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Preregistration is recommended by calling 985-4662.

At 1 p.m., the CSULB 49er baseball team will play Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Conference Game at the 49er field. Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students, children and senior citizens.
