Got a cute picture of a cat or a dog, a lizard or a squirrel, or even a hippopotamus at the zoo?
It's time to take it to the Glendale Humane Society for the fifth annual animal photo contest. Entries must be delivered to the society at 717 Ivy St. by 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Entries will be judged next Thursday and prizes awarded June 1, said state Humane Officer Steve Rodriguez.
Trophies will be given in three categories, with three age groups in each. Categories are animals with people, domestic animals and wild animals. Wild animals can be shot in captivity. Age groups are 13 years and under, 14 to 17, and 18 and older. There will also be a grand prize and runner-up. Prizes are being donated by Glendale merchants.
Applications can be obtained from veterinarians, supermarkets, libraries, pet stores, photography stores and the Humane Society.
