What sort of meal will you get when the chefs are from Domino's Pizza, the Los Angeles Bonaventure Hotel, the Annandale Golf Club, Old Country Bakery and Cal Poly Pomona?

One full of variety, surely, and that's why the 28th annual Chef's Carnival from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Mishima Plaza, the outdoor amphitheater at the Pasadena Center, is billed as "An American Melting Pot."

More than 30 professional chefs and their staffs will cook for the event, sponsored by the Kiwanis

Club of Pasadena, the Chefs de Cuisine Assn. and the Pasadena Center. Proceeds will go to the Rosemary Cottage Home for Girls, the Pasadena Kiwanis Foundation and the chefs' apprenticeship scholarship fund.

Carnival sponsors say the dishes will be drawn from Southwestern, Cajun, Mexican, New England, Italian and Chinese cuisines.

Tickets are $30 at the door or $25 in advance by calling (818) 577-9980.
