I would like to commend the Diamond Bar City Council on their action at the May 21 council meeting. Their opposition to the proposed development of a three-story office building at 1200 S. Brea Canyon Road, in a predominantly residential area, was in the best interest of the people of Diamond Bar.
I especially applaud Councilman Gary Werner for his previous support and his council comments on this issue, that I feel were instrumental in the council's vote of 5 to 0 to reject this plan in favor of the residents of that area.
I would also like to salute Mayor John Forbing for allowing all those who wished to comment on that issue the time to express themselves.
At times, I have been critical of council action on various issues, and have voiced those issues to them and to the news media. However, at this time I feel they are doing an excellent job for the community.
