ARTESIA — The Chamber of Commerce will sponsor Artesia Night at Anaheim Stadium on Friday when the California Angels take on the Texas Rangers.
Pregame ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. with Miss Artesia, Julie Lotts, batting the first ball. Mayor Ron Oliver, Mayor Pro Tem Mary Alyce Soares, chamber President Billie Thornton, secretary Marty McCullough, Artesia princesses Jennifer Ourique and Maria Toth, and Citizen of the Year Bill Atkins will act as players or umpires.
The Artesia Park League team that sells the most tickets will get infield warm-up at Anaheim Stadium as part of the pregame ceremonies and have the team name and roster on the marquee along with the names of the coaches, managers and team mothers.
Tickets are $8 each and can be purchased from Joe's Barber Shop, 11738 187th St., through the Artesia Chamber of Commerce office, 18634 Pioneer Blvd., or from any chamber officer.
More than 600 Artesia residents participated in last year's Artesia Night.
