The fly-boy spoof "Hot Shots!" cooled off the breakneck pace of "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" in theaters over the weekend with ticket sales of $10.8 million on 1,929 screens. "T2," which slipped 23% from the previous weekend, has led the summer box office since its release five weeks ago, grossing a total of $147.7 million. Michael J. Fox's new fish-out-of-water comedy, "Doc Hollywood," finished at No. 3 with a strong $7.2 million. Two other new releases--"Body Parts" and the sequel "Return to the Blue Lagoon"--both opened weakly at No. 8 and No. 16, respectively. Such recent lifeless openings have caused movie analysts to predict that this summer, after a strong early showing, will not meet 1990's $1.86-billion mark.
