Escondido Post 149 on Friday lost for the second time in the double-elimination American Legion World Series in Boyertown, Pa. as a team from Gonzales, La., advanced with an 8-5 victory.
Escondido's Ben Duncan hit a two-run home run in the eighth that made it 8-4. Brian Sandland came through with an RBI single in the ninth to make it 8-5 and chase Gonzales starter Brad Williams. Troy Bourgeois retired the next three to end Escondido's hopes.
