Community Digest

August 29, 1991

A Monrovia man was stabbed to death and his companion was wounded when they were attacked by robbers outside a Silver Lake bar on Saturday, Los Angeles police said.

John Lamb Jr., 31, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 4100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, Detective Ron Whitt said. Lamb's friend, David Hannam, 30, also of Monrovia, was released from a hospital after treatment for minor knife wounds.

Lamb and Hannam had just left a bar and were getting into Hannam's car when three robbers attacked them, even though they put up no resistance, Whitt said. The robbers, who fled with Hannam's wallet, watch and car keys, were being sought.
