Jacqueline K. Barton, a Caltech professor of chemistry, has been awarded the 1992 Garvan Medal, recognizing distinguished service to chemistry by women chemists.
Barton is a bioinorganic chemist who studies the chemistry gene expression, DNA and metal complexes.
