BRIEFLY

November 14, 1991|From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Boeing to Cut Work Force: Boeing Co. said it will cut about 10% of its 7,600 employees working on the B-2 Stealth bomber because the government decided to sharply curtail orders for the radar-evading jet. The jobs will be cut gradually through the end of 1992. Seattle-based Boeing is a subcontractor to Northrop Corp., which builds the B-2s in Palmdale. Three of six test B-2s are flying, and a total of 15 have been ordered.
