ON THE BUBBLE

Servite (6-3) could take the Angelus League's third berth in Division I with an upset of Loyola tonight, but even with a loss the Friars might receive a wild-card bid. Huntington Beach (6-4) is also a possibility.

Capistrano Valley (5-4) must defeat Irvine tonight and win the South Coast League championship to advance to the Division II playoffs. Mission Viejo (7-3) could get a wild-card berth; its chief competition is Rio Mesa (7-3) of the Channel League.

A victory over Laguna Beach today would put Century (6-3) in line for one of four wild-card berths in Division VII. Estancia (6-3-1) could also be a factor.

TOP PERFORMERS

Marcus Jenkins tied a Dana Hills record by scoring six touchdowns in a 43-19 romp over San Clemente. Jenkins tied former Dolphins star Jim Gleed, who scored six touchdowns against Laguna Hills in 1979.

Jim Sebreros gained 117 yards in 20 carries and scored a touchdown to lead Garden Grove to a 17-15 victory over Rancho Alamitos that clinched the Garden Grove League championship.

UPSETS

Katella's Pete Blasi returned an intercepted pass 74 yards for a touchdown to help the Knights knock off El Dorado, 15-13, costing the Golden Hawks a share of second place and a possible playoff berth.

NOTEWORTHY

San Clemente's 43-19 loss to Dana Hills left the Tritons winless in the South Coast League for the fifth straight season. San Clemente hasn't won a league game in six years, losing 28 straight.

ON THE RECORD

'My heart, my ulcer were killing me. It's a great feeling to win the league.'

--Martin Luczaj, Buena Park coach, after the Coyotes tied Troy, 21-21, to win the Freeway League by a half game.
