Ford Motor Corp. has awarded cash prizes to three Art Center College of Design students for design excellence in creating exterior graphics for pickup trucks.
Winners are Jung Kim, first place, $500; Jeff McFarland, second place, $300, and Alec Tam, third place, $200.
Designs were submitted by 25 industrial design students at the Pasadena college and judged by representatives of Ford North American Design and Ford Truck Operations.
The contest was part of a Ford project to create exterior graphics appealing to a pickup truck market that would focus more on women, families, teen-agers and small companies.
