SCENE ON THE STREET : Shave? No Way!

January 22, 1992|SYBIL BAKER

It can be prim and slender--no more than a sort of bird-in-flight over a well-shaped mouth. Cool. Or really ferocious face fungus can shout, "Hair I Am!"

There's no doubt, there was a message in the mustaches seen in Pasadena recently. How about the practical one on the fuller-brush man? Something cosy and British about it. A cure for crumpet crumbs, wot? Well, hardly a brush with death, anyway.

There was ample communication in that city's beards too. The modest goatee may suggest brains overhead. The full beard seems to speak--in a raspy voice--of a husky outside, artistic interior.

And many women really get their fuzzies from facial hair on guys. In defining handsome, then these guys would all be winners by a whisker.
